Adam Alter, Assoc. Professor

Adam Alter is an Associate Professor of Marketing at New York University’s Stern School of Business, with an affiliated appointment in the New York University Psychology Department.

Adam is the New York Times bestselling author of two books: Irresistible (March, 2017)which considers why so many people today are addicted to so many behaviors, from incessant smart phone and internet use to video game playing and online shopping, and Drunk Tank Pink (2013)which investigates how hidden forces in the world around us shape our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.   

 David Ryan Polgar  David Ryan Polgar has carved out a unique career as a “Tech Ethicist, where he explores our evolving relationship with technology from an ethical, legal, and emotional perspective. With a background as an attorney and college professor, he transitioned in recent years to focus entirely on tackling the thorniest issues in tech while promoting a deeper conversation with the development and implementation of emerging tech. Well before the current discussion around Silicon Valley and ethics, David was advocating for a greater discussion around innovation, digital citizenship, and what it means to be human in the digital age. He has been at the forefront of developing and promoting the concepts of digital citizenship, tech ethics, and digital wellness.  David is a technology writer (Quartz, IBM thinkLeaders, and Dell Perspectives), speaker (3-time TEDx, The School of The New York Times), and frequent tech commentator (SiriusXM, CBS This Morning). He is the co-host of Funny as Tech, a NYC-based podcast and live panel show that tackles the thorniest issues in technology. David also recently launched the All Tech Is Human initiative, which aims to better align the business interests of tech with the human interests of users & society. Its first event was held at Grand Central Tech on March 29th.
